ADHD Awareness

Estimates of the prevalence of children presenting difficulties with concentration, impulsivity and high levels of activity which can lead to a diagnosis of ADHD are as high as 5% of all children in the UK. Such difficulties can present significant barriers to learning for these children.
What you will gain from this course:

  • A greater understanding of difficulties and strengths associated with ADHD and the concept of ADHD.
  • Knowledge about the pathway for staff to follow where there are concerns that a child may have ADHD.
  • Awareness of the ways teaching staff can differentiate in order to accommodate the needs of a child with ADHD.

This course will be led by Barry Curtis - Prevent Lead, Designated Child Pro-tection Officer & Nationally Qualified Social Worker.
